Beauty Therapy Advanced (Level 3)

This advanced study programme will provide you with both the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required for all aspects of beauty therapy. The programme will support the development of your ability to a nationally-recognised standard, and will help to progress your career to a higher level. Upon successful completion of this study programme you will be fully qualified to work in spas and salons around the world, or to start your own business.

Duration: 1 Year

  • Beauty Therapy Level 2 Diploma with Functional Skills


Course content

  • Subject units:
    • Advanced facials (e.g. microdermabrasion)
    • Body slimming treatments (e.g. microtone)
    • Swedish body massage
    • Anatomy and physiology
    • Promotional activities
    • Health & safety
  • English and maths:
    If you don't already have GCSE English and maths grade A*-C, we will work with you to help you develop your maths and English skills. 
  • Work experience
  • Personal development skills, study skills and employability skills 
  • Additional vocational learning and qualifications


Assessment methods

You will be continually assessed throughout the study programme on all practical aspects by the beauty therapy tutors in the College’s salons. It must be stressed that full commitment is essential for success, and you will be required to pass online end of unit, multiple choice exam papers set by the awarding body.

Further study and career options

On successful completion of this study programme you can progress on to employment in a range of professional establishments, such as salons, spas and health farms, or you could gain employment in the training of others. This will lead to careers in spas, working on cruise ships, salons or setting up your own business. You can also progress onto Higher Education.

Additional information

We regard appearance, conduct and attitude as an essential part of the study programme; you will therefore be required to wear the designated uniform and adhere to professional codes of appearance and conduct at all times. There will be an additional fees of approximately £41.60 to cover the cost of your uniform and £43.45 for your personal equipment. During the course you will be required to go on field trips where there may be additional costs.

Funding information

If you are aged 19 or over you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help you pay the tuition fees for this course. Alternatively, you can pay by instalments to help make the cost of this course more affordable.
