Assisted Fell Operations NPTC Level 3 Award

Entry requirements
Pre-requisites
A number of pre-requisites must be met before undertaking this course and the respective assessment:
- You must be at least 16 years of age to undertake the training and assessment
- You must hold a Level 2 Award in Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting (or CS30)
- You must hold a Level 2 Award in Felling Trees Up To 380mm (or CS31)
- You must hold a Level 3 Award in Felling Trees Over 380mm (or CS32)
As well as these pre-requisites, it is essential that you are an experienced user of a chainsaw; please contact us to discuss suitability and availability of this course.
Course content
The course is run over three days which includes;
- Health, safety and legislative aspects of felling
- Application of both rope-based and winch-based assisted felling techniques
- Theory of felling forces and lifting heights
After completing this course, you will:
- Be able to promote health and safety and industry good practice
- Be able to carry out assisted fell operations
- Understand relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice
- Understand how to carry out assisted fell operations
Assessment methods
Assessments are held on a separate day on completion of training.
