Engineering Access to Higher Education Advanced (Level 3)

Aimed at adult learners over the age of 19, this course provides you with the opportunity to study a Level 3 qualification, on a full-time basis, leading to progression on to a higher education qualification. You will focus on developing core skills and knowledge in maths and science.

Entry requirements

Grade requirements:
You will need a grade C or above in maths and ideally science to succeed on this course. A genuine interest of a career in either engineering or construction is essential.

Course content

The course is designed to prepare you for entry on to higher education provision in either Engineering or Construction. In addition to vocationally related technology the course will focus on the mathematical and scientific skills essential for success.

Assessment methods

You will be assessed by a range or methods including end tests, assignment work and presentations.


Access to HE Level 3 Diploma in Engineering and Construction

Further study and career options

On successful completion of the course, you can progress on to the HNC in Engineering or Construction here at the College.

Additional information

You will be required to attend College for three days a week on a Monday, Thursday and Friday and you will also be expected to study for approximately 15 hours a week outside of College. You may need to purchase books relating to the course.
