Whether you have decided on a course, or are just investigating your options, our Open Days provide an ideal opportunity for you to see exactly what Bedford College has to offer. 2

They are held throughout the year – in November, January, March, June and August. You can meet tutors, find out more about our courses, and discover for yourself the atmosphere of our well-established and highly supportive College where students are encouraged to become mature and independent learners. With high pass rates that are consistently improving, we are a great choice – providing a positive and rewarding experience in a lively and friendly learning environment.

What can I do at an Open Day?
Whether you’ve already applied or have no idea what you want to study yet, our Open Days are perfect for you! You can get a real feel of student life. Tutors will also be on hand to explain in depth about courses and our Student Services team will also be there to offer advice on careers, transport, finance, wellbeing and more.

What sites/campuses will be open?
The Bedford College Open Day is located at the following locations:

For Hair & Beauty courses visit BROOKs, our specialist salon on Bedford High Street. Get Directions.

For Motor Vehicle courses visit our Vehicle Technology Centre in KempstonGet Directions.

For all other study programmes visit our main site: Bedford College, Cauldwell Street, Bedford MK42 9AH. Get Directions.

If you’re interested in Land-based courses, then you will need to attend our separate Shuttleworth College Open Day. If you can’t make our next Shuttleworth College Open Day, there will be a representative available to speak to at the Bedford College Open Day.

What subject areas will be represented?
Every subject area we offer at the College will be in attendance at the Open Day. For a full list, check out the subjects we offer.

What if I want to study A-Levels, do Bedford College offer them?
If you wish to study A-Levels, then we recommend visiting The Bedford Sixth Form on Bromham Road, Bedford. There will be a representative at this event to answer any questions however we would recommend attending one of their Open Days. View their future Open Day dates.

What if I’m deaf/hard of hearing?
We may have a signer available at the Open Day who can communicate via British Sign Language.  Please check with us first by emailing

What if I have specific access requirements?
The majority of areas within the College are accessible to everyone. If you have any concerns, please ring us on 01234 291000.

Do I have to be there for the duration of the event?
Of course not! You can drop in at any time and stay for as long or as little as you wish.

How do I apply for a course?
You will be able to apply on the day, and staff will be on hand to help you, or if you prefer, you can also apply online when you get home.

Do I have to pre-register to be able to come?

Does my entire family have to pre-register?
No, only prospective students are required to register to attend an Open Day.
